I think I’m always drawn to pieces that feel imperfect and unfinished in some way. I wanted the flowers and plants to almost blur into each other, like they’re still moving or growing into the space around them.

The sketchy lines and layered background were important to me because I didn’t want everything to feel too clean or overly resolved. I wanted it to keep some softness and movement.

Even though there’s a lot happening in the piece, it still feels quiet to me. The warm tones hold everything together and give it this calm, grounded feeling without making it too serious.

I think the piece is really just about finding beauty in things that feel slightly undone. The in-between stage of things, where they’re still becoming something.
